Do you like learning from listening? Do you have a list of podcasts you can learn from?

You may ask: Learning from podcasts? But what are these actually?

quotation-marks-leftA podcast is a form of digital media that consists of an episodic series of audio, video, digital radio, PDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. (Wikipedia)

Oh right, so now we get that.

In this article I collected 5 podcasts about Polish in a form of audio recordings – it allows a very comfortable and varied way of learning – you can listen to them on the go, wherever you are, on your mobile, tablet or a computer. Just plug in your earphones and listen  when you are walking, running or driving.

All selected podcasts can be found on iTunes. For Android you have to install the Stitcher app – click here. Just type the name of the podcast. If you don’t like Stitcher, check  Beyond Pod app. It’s also very good and available here.

1. Real Polish

It’s definitely the biggest collection of podcasts about Polish – Piotr (Peter) from realpolish.pl is releasing new episodes regularly – so this is one of the best resources to learn Polish on a daily basis. Piotr speaks slowly and clearly – this is why you can improve you Polish pronunciation level along comprehension. Lessons are only in the Polish language and have a length of 20-30 minutes. But you can find there even longer episodes.

3. Polski z Grażyną – Polish with Grażyna

This podcast is definitely one of my favourites. In episodes you meet a fictional character Grażyna Mak. The language used is Polish only. But what is great about it, this is much more than listening to Polish but also some kind of a theatrical performance with a great voice modulation and entertaining emotions. For sure you will not be bored. Even if you don’t normally have much time you will be fine- lessons are  2-3 minutes long.

That series was recorded by radio for kids Fun Kids from London in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute in London. Episodes are recorded by kids for kids, so it is really quite funny. But I’m sure that adults can benefit from it as well. Lessons have the length of 2-3 minutes. The youtube videos  can be found here.
